Director Identification Number (DIN)

DIN is a unique 8-digit number mandatory for any person who wishes to be a director of an Indian company. It is issued by MCA and must be obtained before or during the incorporation process.

About DIN

A person can hold only one DIN throughout their lifetime. For new companies incorporated via SPICe+ Part B, DINs for up to 3 directors are allotted simultaneously within the form — no separate application or fee is needed. For adding directors to an existing company, Form DIR-3 must be filed separately.
