From Paperwork to Platform

A few years ago, incorporating a company in India meant something very specific: a stack of forms, a folder of scanned documents, and a WhatsApp thread with a consultant who was probably juggling twenty other clients at the same time. You'd send a query on Monday, get a half answer on Thursday, and by the following week you'd forgotten which document you were even waiting on.

We know this because we lived it.

Before CorpE existed, our team spent years inside that exact system, helping founders register companies, file compliance paperwork, and untangle the kind of bureaucratic knots that have nothing to do with building a good product and everything to do with surviving the process of starting one. We watched smart, capable people get stuck not because their idea was weak, but because the incorporation process was designed for a different era. One built around paper trails, in person visits, and consultants who acted as gatekeepers instead of guides.

That frustration is where CorpE started.

The problem was never the paperwork itself

It's easy to blame forms. But the real issue was never the forms alone, it was the fragmentation around them. A founder trying to register a business in India would typically need a company secretary for the incorporation, an accountant for the financials, a separate vendor for GST registration, and another one for ongoing compliance. Every handoff between these parties introduced delay, miscommunication, and the occasional lost document.

Nobody owned the whole journey. Everybody owned a piece of it.

We wanted to build something that treated company formation as a single connected experience instead of a chain of disconnected transactions. Not a directory of consultants you'd have to manage yourself, but one platform that could guide you from the moment you decide on a business structure all the way to the day your compliance filings become routine.

Building the dashboard we wished we'd had

CorpE is built around a simple idea: a founder should be able to see exactly where their company registration stands at any given moment, without sending a follow up message to find out. That's why the platform gives you a live dashboard that tracks your application status, flags what's needed next, and keeps every document in one place instead of scattered across email threads and phone calls.

Our CBO, Shreya Lakhotiya, has talked about this openly. The team built CorpE after spending too much time buried in form after form, waiting for updates that never arrived on schedule, and she's said plainly that the goal was to take that burden off founders so they could spend their energy on their product, their team, and their customers instead.

That sentence became something close to a design principle for us. Every feature we shipped, from guided incorporation flows to milestone based payments, got measured against one question: does this reduce the founder's mental load, or does it just move the same complexity onto a screen?

Why we didn't just digitize the old process

There's a difference between putting a form online and rethinking how the whole journey should work. A lot of platforms in this space have done the first. We wanted to do the second.

So instead of replicating a consultant's checklist inside an app, we built CorpE to automate the parts that don't need a human at all, structure selection, document generation, name availability checks, and to bring in expert support exactly where it actually matters, like when a founder needs a CA or CS to make a judgment call. The platform handles the repetitive, rule based work. The people step in for the parts that genuinely require expertise.

We also made a deliberate choice around pricing and transparency. No hidden charges, no surprise government fee added at the last step, and payments split into clear milestones so you're paying for progress rather than a lump sum upfront and hoping for the best.

Who this is actually for

CorpE was built for two kinds of founders we kept running into. The first time entrepreneur who has never registered a company before and doesn't know what a DSC or an MOA even is, let alone how to get one. And the founder who's done this before, maybe even a few times, and is simply tired of losing a week of productive time to something that should take a few days.

It's also built for the CA and CS professionals who work with founders every day. A number of them have told us that the automation cuts down the manual back and forth significantly, and that the live tracking keeps their clients informed without extra phone calls. That feedback matters to us because it tells us the platform is solving a shared problem, not just a founder side one.

Where we go from here

Company registration was the starting point, not the whole plan. Running a business in India comes with an ongoing set of obligations, annual filings, GST returns, ROC compliance, and the further we get into building CorpE, the more we realize that the real value is in staying with founders past day one. Helping them stay compliant as they grow, not just get incorporated and disappear.

We built CorpE because we believed founders deserved a system that respects their time. Not a portal that hands you a form and wishes you luck, and not a consultant relationship that depends on how quickly someone checks their inbox. A platform that actually keeps up with the business you're trying to build.

We're still building it. But the direction hasn't changed since day one: less paperwork, more platform, and a lot fewer unanswered messages.
